Community Based Alternatives (CBA) Program
Administered by Texas Department of Aging and Disability Services
The CBA program provides individuals with an array of services such
as attendants to assist with personal care and household chores;
payment of prescriptions; medical supplies; medical equipment and
home modifications as well as services of a licensed nurse. A physician
must certify that an individual requires these services based on
medical necessity.
Primary Home Care (PHC)*
Administered by Texas Department of Aging and Disability Services
This is a non-technical program that provides attendants to assist
with personal care such as bathing and grooming. Attendants will
also do chores such as cleaning, laundry and meal preparation. A
physician must certify that an individuals medical condition
warrants the need for these services.

HCS / Texas Home and Community
Based Living
Provides residential and in-home support services for the persons
with mental retardation and their families to promote a strong foundation
for growth and development of the individual. Individuals and their
families are encouraged to be involved to the greatest extent possible
in making choice among options for places to live, to go to school,
to work and for leisure activities. Individuals are provided opportunities
for choice and support to facilitate relationships with peers with
or without disabilities. The company is fully staffed with employees
and consultants with many years of experience working with consumers
affiliated with the Mental Retardation Authority.
